The Finance Manager plays a vital role in ensuring financial stability, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial management for the company. This role requires strong financial expertise, leadership, and regulatory knowledge, particularly in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting:

• Prepare and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Maintain compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Provide financial updates to senior management to support decision-making.

2. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to MFSA regulations, Electronic Money Regulations, and other relevant laws.
• Maintain proper segregation of client funds as per regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of client funds for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor and maintain capital adequacy ratios and minimum regulatory capital requirements.
• Prepare and submit periodic financial reports to the MFSA and other authorities.
• Ensure compliance with the EU’s Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD) and financial crime prevention regulations.

3. Internal Controls & Audits:

• Develop and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
• Review and update the Safeguarding Policy and Outsourcing Policy to align with MFSA guidelines, EMD2, and PSD2 requirements.
• Work closely with internal and external auditors to meet compliance standards.
• Implement systems to detect and prevent financial irregularities or fraud.

4. Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and manage the accounting, reconciliation, and payments team.
• Collaborate with compliance, operations, and IT teams to streamline financial processes.
• Provide training on financial policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.

5. Taxation & Legal Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, including VAT, corporate tax, and withholding tax.
• Work with legal advisors to ensure regulatory and contractual obligations are met.

6. Technology & Innovation:

• Implement and enhance accounting software for better financial management.
• Integrate APIs with banking platforms for seamless financial operations.
• Automate processes such as daily reconciliation of client funds, transaction tracking, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience in the financial services industry, especially in payments, banking, or electronic money services.
• Strong knowledge of MFSA regulations, EMD2, PSD2, and AMLD.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Prior experience in ERP implementation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with regulators, auditors, and senior management.
